Business email on your phone: the complete guide
How to set up, organise and secure the email on your own domain, from your pocket.
1. Choose an app that respects business email
Look for: IMAP support (so the phone and computer stay in sync), several mailboxes, real notifications, a signature per mailbox, and no ads mixed into your messages. ECOMHUTSY Webmail was built for exactly this, free.
2. Connect your mailbox
Sign in with the full email address and the mailbox password. If the app cannot find the server, use the settings table.
3. Add every address you use
Sales, support, info and your own address can all live in one app. Switch with a tap, and see unread counts for each.
4. Set your name and signature
In Mailbox settings, set the name recipients see and a short signature: name, role, company, phone. Keep it under four lines on mobile.
5. Stay on top of the inbox
- Let Promotions and Social catch newsletters.
- Snooze emails you cannot handle now.
- Use Schedule send to reply at a sensible hour.
- Create labels for clients and suppliers.
6. Keep it secure
- Use a strong, unique mailbox password; use App Passwords for Gmail and Yahoo.
- Lock your phone with a PIN or fingerprint.
- Be careful with links asking you to "verify" your mailbox. Hosts never ask for your password by email.
7. Use the same mailbox on your computer
Because the app uses IMAP, the Windows app or web version show the same email, read status and folders.
