IMAP and SMTP settings for popular email providers

Most of the time you never need these: ECOMHUTSY Webmail finds the settings from your email address. When an app asks for them, or when automatic setup fails, use the table below. In ECOMHUTSY Webmail, choose Server settings (only if needed) when adding a mailbox.

Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain. Zoho accounts in Europe or India use .eu or .in instead of .com, and Zoho's free plan does not include IMAP. If a value differs in your provider's control panel, use theirs.

What the settings mean

• IMAP is how an app reads your email. It keeps everything on the server, so your phone, computer and webmail all show the same folders. See IMAP vs POP3.
• SMTP is how an app sends email.
• 993 and 465 are the encrypted (SSL/TLS) ports. 587 uses STARTTLS, which also encrypts. Avoid 143 and 25 without encryption.
• Username is almost always your full email address.

Finding your own settings

In cPanel, open Email Accounts, then Connect Devices next to your address. Other hosts list them in their help center, usually under "email client setup".

Questions and answers

Which port should I use, 465 or 587?

Both are encrypted. Use 465 (SSL) when your provider offers it; use 587 with STARTTLS otherwise.

Why does my host use mail.mydomain.com?

cPanel hosts give each domain its own mail server name. It points to the host's server.
